Ann Curry

Ann Curry was born in the US and works as an accomplished photographer as well as a journalist. Over the past forty-five years she has focused on documenting human suffering, especially in natural disasters and wars. Curry reported on conflicts within Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry, (born November 19th 1956, Agana American journalist, television anchor and news reporter who was best known for her work as a correspondent on the Today show, a news morning program aired by the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry's work was noted because of her coverage of human crisis that occurred in war-torn countries as well as natural catastrophes. Curry's father served as a sailor within the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. Her mother was living with their father during Japan after World War II. Due to her father's service in the military and the frequent moves they made. Curry graduated from high school at Ashland Oregon. Curry graduated in 1978 with an undergraduate degree in journalism in the University of Oregon. As a child she was exposed various cultures. The couple relocated frequently so Curry was not confined to the same school for over two years, and she traveled to different places like San Diego Alameda Oregon and Virginia. Ashland, Oregon is the location where Curry received her degree. Her first job could lead to a successful career as a broadcasting intern for KTVL Channel 10 Medford. The first female news anchor at this station, at age 22. After that, she moved to reporting and anchoring at KGW the NBC affiliate station in Portland. Then she returned into Los Angeles four years later working as a journalist at KCBS TV. There were two Emmy Awards were won during the six years she worked for the KCBS-TV.
